Year 4 Geography & Psychology Transition Event at DESC
On Sunday 11th November, the Geography and Psychology Departments at DESC welcomed our Year 4 students for a Transition Day looking at ‘Survival’. 120 excited students were welcomed in to the auditorium before moving to G block for their activities.
The children all brought with them an object they would want to have with them if they were on a desert island to help them survive. They had to work together to make difficult decisions about which items would be most helpful or who should be saved by a small rescue boat, a teacher or a celebrity!
In Geography, students looked at adaptations that animals have to help them survive, before designing their creatures to survive on their own desert island.
Students were judged throughout the activities on the skills of Dare, Excel, Share and Create. Certificates were awarded in the auditorium at the end of the day, after watching a video made of their experiences during the day.
